1999

In 1999, the Safeguard Foundation, Safeguard’s corporate outreach program, contributed roughly $1 million to over 100 non-profits on behalf of its stakeholders. Among them were the Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America and United Way.

Warren V. “Pete” Musser, then chairman and CEO of Safeguard, set the example by pledging $3 million to the Penn State Great Valley campus that same year. Pete’s warm-heartedness and generosity to his community led Philadelphia Magazine to name him one of “Philly’s 50 Most Generous Souls”, earning the cover spot on the magazine’s June 1999 issue.
