Together with the United States Department of Energy, Hub City, a division of Safeguard Power Transmission Company, helped develop the heliostat drive, a component in a total system for the conversion of solar energy into usable electric power. This device was used at the first solar energy conversion plant built in the United States.

With its eyes set on meeting tomorrow’s energy needs, Safeguard Industries harnessed the sun’s power in what was one of our nation’s first forays into high-efficiency solar energy—and demonstrated once again its unwavering commitment to energizing innovation to build a better world.
