Heather implements integrated marketing communications, public relations and investor relations initiatives that foster sales, business development and partnering opportunities.

Heather has 15 years' experience working in a wide variety of industries including commercial real estate, venture capital, life sciences, healthcare and technology with public and private, early-, growth- and late-stage companies.

At Safeguard, Heather has implemented integrated marketing, communications, investor relations, public relations, social media, branding, and corporate positioning strategies that have fostered sales, business development and partnering opportunities. Communications strategies include financings, partnerships, IPOs, acquisitions, dispositions, CXO announcements, earnings, etc. as well as 40+ M&A transactions valued at $2.5+ billion, in aggregate.

Prior to Safeguard, Heather was Vice President of Corporate Communications at W. P. Carey Inc. (NYSE:WPC), a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) that provides long-term sale-leaseback and build-to-suit financing for companies worldwide and manages an investment portfolio of approximately $15.4 billion. During her tenure at W. P. Carey, the company’s assets under management increased 4x. As a result, Heather developed and executed communications and marketing strategies for sale-leaseback transactions totaling more than $8 billion, in aggregate. In addition, Heather managed the launch, branding and marketing for four public non-traded REITs which raised more than $2 billion in equity, as well as the merger of six public non-traded REITs, which consisted of large portfolios of high-quality, net-leased properties.

Heather is a member of the Strategic Communications Group at the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) and the Alumni Schools Committee at Yale University; is President of the Yale Lacrosse Association; and is a Board Member for the Arts & Business Council of Greater Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Photo Arts Center. Heather graduated from Yale with a B.A. in History.
