Daniel P. van den Bergh
As an Associate in Safeguards Scientifics’ Life Sciences Group, Daniel is responsible for deal screening, conducting due diligence on prospective acquisitions opportunities and supporting Safeguard’s partner companies.
Prior to joining Safeguard, Daniel was a healthcare investment banker in EuroConsult Capital's New York office and Citigroup's London and New York offices. At both companies, he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology sectors across the US, European and Emerging Markets. Daniel also interned at Lux Capital, an early-stage emerging technology venture capital fund where he focused on life sciences opportunities, and Serono S.A. (now part of Merck KGaA) in bioprocess development.
Daniel graduated from Cornell University with a BSc in Biological Engineering and Applied Economics where he worked in the Walker Lab on novel ways to monitor biofuel production using nanotechnology.
