A healthcare professional with experience in mergers and acquisitions, Daniel evaluates capital deployment opportunities and supports Safeguard's healthcare partner companies.
At Safeguard, Daniel is responsible for deal screening, conducting due diligence on prospective acquisitions opportunities and supporting Safeguard’s healthcare partner companies.
Prior to joining Safeguard, Daniel was a healthcare investment banker at EuroConsult Capital's New York office and Citigroup's London and New York offices. At both companies, he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology sectors across the U.S., European and Emerging Markets. Daniel also interned at Lux Capital, an emerging technology venture capital firm where he focused on life sciences opportunities, and Serono S.A. (now part of Merck KGaA) in bioprocess development.
Originally from Switzerland, Daniel graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Biological Engineering and Applied Economics where he worked at the Walker Lab on novel ways to monitor biofuel production using nanotechnology.
