Heather R. Hunter
As Director, Marketing Communications, Heather is responsible for developing, implementing and managing all aspects of the company’s corporate communications and marketing initiatives. In addition, Heather supports Safeguard’s partner companies with corporate positioning, branding, strategic marketing, public relations, social media, investor relations and various other initiatives. With more than twelve years of experience working with commercial real estate, venture capital, life sciences and technology companies, Heather has implemented integrated marketing/communications, PR, social medial, brand development and corporate positioning strategies that have fostered sales, business development and partnering opportunities.
Prior to Safeguard, Heather was Vice President of Corporate Communications at W. P. Carey & Co. LLC (NYSE: WPC), an investment management company that provides long-term sale-leaseback and build-to-suit financing for companies worldwide and manages a global investment portfolio worth more approximately $12 billion.
Heather is a member of the Strategic Communications Group at the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA); the Communications Committee at Pennsylvania Bio; and is active with The Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE), Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Alumni Schools Committee at Yale University. Heather graduated from Yale with a B.A. in History.
