Putney Hires TJ Dupree as Chief Operating Officer

Portland, ME, January 9, 2012 — Putney, Inc., a rapidly growing pet pharmaceutical company focused on the development and sale of generic prescription medicines for pets, announced today that it has hired TJ Dupree as Chief Operating Officer. Most recently, Dupree was Corporate Vice President, Companion Animal Group at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDXX), the animal health diagnostics and information technology solutions company, where he drove significant revenue growth and operating profit expansion for both the capital and service revenue sectors. In his new role Dupree will have strategic and operational responsibility for all of Putney’s commercial operations including sales, marketing, service and global supply chain.

Dupree has more than fifteen years of experience as a commercial leader and business strategist. He joined IDEXX in 2003 as Vice President of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to his eight years at IDEXX, Dupree was a Manager for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he led cross-functional teams of client and BCG staff, providing consulting in areas of strategy and achievement of operational excellence to senior management and boards of directors in the US and Europe for a broad range of international companies.

Jean Hoffman, President and CEO of Putney, says, “2012 is an important year for Putney after completion of our $21 million capital raise and achievement of all of our key goals in 2011. TJ and I are already working closely together and I am thrilled to have him lead our commercial strategy, build out operations and insure that we achieve excellence in global supply chain practices so as to deliver flawless service in support of our customers.”

Dupree says Putney is revolutionizing the pet healthcare industry and he is excited to join Putney now, as it expands its operational infrastructure and logistical capabilities. “There is a game changing transformation underway in animal health and Putney is well positioned to lead it. Putney is at an inflection point in its growth, with a solid pipeline of companion animal generics that will provide high quality, cost-effective pet treatment options and improve economics for veterinarians and pet owners,” says Dupree.

“Having spent a lot of time with TJ, I have confidence that his strong intellect and high energy coupled with the strategic insight, operational expertise and deep relationships with key customers and partners that he has honed over the last eight years in animal health will prove to be a decisive addition to Putney,” says Hoffman.

Putney added nine experienced people to the Company’s management and R&D/Regulatory teams over the last year. Hoffman expects to add another 10 commercial and technical team members throughout 2012.
