Week in Review: NFTE Philadelphia Business Plan Finals and Job Growth

The next generation of entrepreneurs are competing for $2,500 in seed capital, and it all culminates on Monday at the NFTE Philadelphia Final Regional Business Plan Competition, which is being held at 10 a.m.at Quorum at the University Science Center in Philadelphia. Navarrow Wright, Chief Technology Officer at Interactive One, will deliver a speech titled, “The Power of Education with an Entrepreneurial Mindset.”
The five finalists’ business plans bring together diverse industries and ideas, including music production, electronics, hair styling, wrist bands, and tutoring. Last week’s news of Safeguard’s newest board member, Dr. Keith Jarrett, drew attention from the Daily Local News and PEHub. Phil Moyer was also featured in recent news, offering his take on big data in the Philadelphia Business Journal and the Facebook IPO in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
