PC Magazine Gives Authentium’s SafeCentral Four Stars

Posted by | January 28, 2010

With the simplicity and convenience of online banking, shopping, tax reporting, and stock trading, consumers are transmitting massive amounts of personal and financial information over the Internet, despite growing awareness of cybercrime and identity theft.

Authentium, a Safeguard Scientifics technology partner company, is developing anti-malware and identity-protection software and services.

The big boys are noticing. Google, Microsoft, and major financial institutions are using Authentium’s core technologies to create or enhance computer security products, and to protect e-commerce transactions in an end-to-end, secured online environment. After its recent review of SafeCentral 2.6, the lastest update of Authentium’s lead product, technology editors at PC Magazine awarded SafeCentral four stars. The publication even reserved a prime location on its home page for its review.

This review follows a great story about SafeCentral in The New York Times titled, “Building an Online Bulwark to Fend Off Identity Fraud,” capping a highly successful year for the entire SafeCentral team.

Congratulations to the team at SafeCentral for creating a first-of-its-kind IT security product providing an additional layer of security for consumers against identity theft.
